Is Upgrading To Windows 8 Worth It?

I found some very cheap Windows 8 keys on reddit and I'm very tempted to buy one. What are the advantages of Windows 8 for gaming reasons, what are the disadvantages. I mainly play BF4 as of right now, if that makes any of a difference. Thanks guys

[better] support for DirectX. Better upgrade path to Windows 10, about the same stability, better driver support.

So does this mean better game performance? Are there any downsides at all?

Besides the Metro menu at boot and lack of start menu (both solvable with third party software, and the latter built in a setting), it's fine. Game performance can be better, yes, but probably by negligible bounds.

What?

Some people, when upgrading between OS', like to keep their files, versus a clean install. I can tell you already, Windows 8.1 is a whole lot closer to Windows 10 in terms of architecture and will have a "safer" upgrade between 7 and 10.

Just wait for 10. You'll get it for free if you download it within a year of release. :3

I'm going to punch your face- IN THE FACE.

I just upgraded to windows 8 from 7 and I think it was worth, faster boots, cleaner design (I fixed the start menu with third party software though), I like it a lot more then windows 7, don't really notice a performance difference though.
