Steam Workshop offering paid for mods

Steam is offering the creators of mods on the steam workshop the ability to sell them.

 

So far this service has only been offered on Skyrim and the game dev has to opt in.

 

Some mods that have been on the nexus and steam workshop in the past are now for sale... however some authors are only leaving older and outdated versions on the nexus/steam workshop.

Some users are reporting being banned for talking badly regarding this on their discussion pages/fourm.

turns out the first paid for mod on the workshop was pulled for using someone elses content...

Steam is going downhill fast,no more great Gabe imo when greed comes into play its the end pretty much.People are going to make simple silly mods and ask 1-2$ for it no thanks,just look a the video above  1 sword 8 kr which is about 1$,comeon anyone can make a silly sword in blender in a day or less and put it there,and if it sells hundrets or thousands of them that means just as many $ which steam will probably get a big chunk from.I also bet they wont let anyone put up paid mods.

The only reason games like Skyrim reached so high is because of free high quality mods,making them paid is just DLC,only that now its 3rd party DLC which kills the whole point of mods,mods should be free,if people making mods want money they should make and sell games instead,cause there are so many shitty games that could use skilled people.

Dont care anymore,PC gaming has went to shit for quite some time,this wont make much difference.

IF people who make the mods want to give it away for free then they can if they dont they will charge for it
