Using one year old card in dual SLI is it worth it?

So I have a gtx 780 3gb in my rig right now that I built around one year ago. I've seen that the price is going down and I was considering that instead of buying a new card I wanted another gtx 780, therefore having a two card sli. I mostly want to do this for fun and I don't want to spend a lot of money on a new graphics card.

Will a gtx 780 dual SLI be more worth the money and performance than for example a gtx 980?

In my country i can get a gtx 780 for around 300 USD while a new gtx 980 would cost 700 USD

What do you think?

Yes.

Go with the SLI if you want more raw performance. But if you want the features of the newer card, sell the 780 and get a 980.

Yes, I have sli gtx 780's right now while my dad has a single gtx 980 in his rig. I can say it crushes the 980 for most things only drawback really is heat (unless you happen to water cool) and power consumption. I cant say a lot in all honesty as im planning to get sli 980's this summer cause i have an itch to build that wont go away lol

3 displayports for multimonitor 4k and/or gsync, HDMI 2.0 for 4k tv's, 0db fan modes out of the box, higher efficiency, autobalancing power rails for smoother overclocking, are some just to name a few.
