My (rough) monthly cost of folding.

So I was curious and pulled some rough figures from the wall (aka my UPS output) and came up with a rough calculation. All things considered equal (which they're likely NOT considering I do occasional gaming anyway and didn't factor that in), it costs me $15.42 more than my average energy cost per month to fold 24/7. That's $185 per year in folding expenses alone. This is still very cheap though, since I have the luxury of living close (not that close #Fukushima) to a nuclear plant and have cheap rates of ~$0.075 per kWh during non-peak energy months. If you're interested in the calculation, here it is lel:

(((0.510*15+0.405*9)(243.25*0.07393+122*0.08671))/12)-(((0.240*15+0.135*9)(243.25*0.07393+122*0.08671))/12) = ~$15.42

This is before taxes too. Brownie points awarded to those who can decipher the values or correct me (as I'm probably wrong anyway.) Have fun  :D

(1/12)(((0.510*15+0.405*9)(243.25*0.07393+122*0.08671))-((0.240*15+0.135*9)(243.25*0.07393+122*0.08671)))

even more so (cost per kWh* usage in kwh*24*30.5)

30.5 would be off because you need to take into account the prime rate for energy peak months. That's a slightly higher cost per kWh number. If you average it out over a year it's better, also taking into account a 0.25 leap day  :)

i have a fixed rate year round which is lower than it would be at peak times but higher than what it would be on off peak

Ya, we have three fixed rates here, off-peak, mid and on-peak that also switch up every six months to coincide with the season. I figure... it's all for a good cause. If you just running a system or two, it shouldn't break the bank... that much. :)
