4k monitor for gaming

ti1m

so with 390x getting relised soon obv i wil buy it my 290x is dying... sadly :( but worry not a nice shelf is waithing for her.

basicly with  390x i rly dont see any point having 2 dell 2412m (1920x1200) it would be wastful so i was thinking of selling this monitors and buying Samsung U28D590P it seems good 4k monitor for only 435 eur. I play WOW, (90% of time) and some LOL and ETS2.

So basicly is this monitor cool for gaming or something else?

Have a nice day

Wouldn't recommend it. WoW and other Blizzard games don't have any proper high-res scaling support. Your UI would be tiny and unreadable unless you turned the resolution back down to 1440p or 1080p. In that case might as well get a 1440p monitor from the start.

If you wanted to, they have the same pixel density as normal 27" 1440p monitors.

if you do go for a 4k monitor I've got a acer xb280hk and highly recommend it, as you'll be going 390x (as will i) get the cb280hk as its the non G sync version.

Gaming PC: • AMD Ryzen 7 3900x • 16gb Corsair Vengeance RGB Pro 3200mhz • Founders Edition 2080ti • 2x Crucial 1tb nvme ssd • NZXT H1• Logitech G915TKL • Logitech G Pro • Asus ROG XG32VQ • SteelSeries Arctis Pro Wireless

Laptop: MacBook Pro M1 512gb

Which is a shame, considering they are otherwise perfectly playable at high res on a sodding 960...

I'm also playing WOW (just started playing back not long ago) on 4K. So far, it looks better than what I can remember in the past (Not sure if it's because of WoD that's why looking better). Although I note that my cursor is like 4 x smaller than usual (which I assume it's because it's in 4K resolution). But everything else, I'm loving WOW on 4K, everything looks so much prettier.

not all games UI scales at 4k.i imagine the text in Wow would be really small as well.

cs go used to also have this problem haven't played in a while to see if it's been sorted

I think they might have solve the issue for WOW. So far the text and everything seems to be ok. At least to me it's ok. Just came back to WOW so not really sure how was it before they fix it in 4K.
