Used iPod Touch

Dinakos

So I was looking to buy a used iPod and I thought since each iDevice is tethered to a certain pc/account, will I have a problem when changing accounts? Also, is there a format/reset option? (Never used an iDevice)

That's not how it works, you use iTunes to set what account the iDevice uses. so just sync it to your iTunes/apple account and you're good to go.

Edit: there is a reset to factory settings.

If its icloud locked then the original owner will have to remove their account as long as they do that you can put your account on to replace theirs. Should work fine.

And yes there is a reset option in the settings.

I'm really concerned about it being clean ,so I will do the DFU Mode thingy.

Just be wary that a iPod touch is obsolete in 1.5 years. It's a content consumption device, don't try to use it as a smart phone with no phone capabilities.

Exactly. I'm gonna use it as an mp4/games player. I can find one for 130 euros, so not much of a deal.

Then it's fine, all iPods have above-average audio hardware and the 5th gen also has a nice screen (older models have a TN panel). New 3D games won't run super fluently since the A5 chip is starting to age.

Plus It's Apple, always wanted an iDevice. They don't seem to lag that much or at all

I still have my 1. gen iPod touch and I use it almost every day as a music player. To be honest music mangement on Android devices is just horrible (I have a Samsung Galaxy S3). Even though iTunes is a bit bloated and sluggish it still gets all my music on my iDevice in exactly the way I want it ... or maybe I'm just biased after 6 years of iPod usage.

The next time I change my phone I'm jumping over to Apple like I had originally planned when I bought my S3, I just hope they quit this huge-phone-bullshit-train that everyone is on at the moment.
