Windows 8.1 not all in English

Hey guys,

 

Recently i decided to reinstall windows, as my old copy of it was starting to get cluttered and had been through multiple computers, thus even with my maintenance, it was slowing down due to bloat. I am now in the process of moving my data from te Windows.old directory.

 

My problem is that my disk or windows is a Norwegian copy, and Norwegian is the only option for the setup language. I set anything i could to English, but on the first boot up everything was in Norwegian. After setting English as the main language, and downloading the language pack, most of the os is now in English. I say most, because stuff like the startup/ login screen, and parts of the control panel are still in Norwegian.

 

My question is, is the any way to fix this other than downloading the Microsoft upgrade utility and reinstall the English version of windows over this?

Have you tried changing the system locale?

You need to know that language packs are no longer available once you upgrade to Windows 8.1..

System locale is already set to english/ US, but its only core parts of the OS that show up in Norwegian, like in the logon screen and stuff

So after windows 8.1, is the only option for having the whole OS in English, to download an English iso off the microsoft website, and installing it that way?
