Working with scratch. tips/help?

at school i and my group have in assignment to learn how to use Scratch and later present it at a school...

 

i have to introduce scratch and present the possibilities with using scratch and lastly i need to make a survey to give to the kids in that class...

 

 

any tips? good guides to get me into scratch? any help is greatly appreciated :)

I'm looking into scratch too because of a course for kids that may or may not be actually organized

The Language itself is pretty straightforward, that's the point of it, you mostly drag and drop blocks, and if you google it you can easily find some online "IDE" on which you can create codes or play Little simple games

What i wanted to do is to just make it a bit more interesting by creating an API that does cool things

By "cool thing" i mean that it could pilot a car or a character in an html5 canvas, or maybe even remotely control an Arduino to turn on and off things, move stuff, make noises, anything that will let the kids see that they're influencing something outside of the screen

Gotta be creative
