R9 290 Tri-X - decreasing in FPS playing League of Legends

Go to solution Solved by c00face,

What was it ?

Motherboard APP - had the power at "Power Saving" Mode. Changing it to Standard Mode or Performance Mode allowed the GPU to have the necessary power it needed to run the graphics.

When I first had the card, I was running on Very High Settings playing League of Legends, with 172-226 FPS no problem. Two months into it - the card can't even run 60 FPS and it's struggling at 30 FPS. What is the issue? This card should be overkill for League of Legends and it's struggling to run 30 FPS after two months? It seems like the review was correct when they said this card starts to lose performance after being used 1-2 Months. Any ideas what could be the problem?

First of all. Did you get your card second handed?

(smells like you gotten a card that has been mined on)

Mined card doesnt equals to lesser performance. It means that the card's life span is alot lesser. This means that his card is nearing the end of it's life
