I'd rather have 3 970's. Perhaps even 3 980's if they were on sale. 

The next AMD card will likely crush these. Then you're left wondering why you dropped $1,500 on inferior cards.

TTL did a video with a pair of 259x2s on his 4960X. It was pretty insane.

hawaii is pretty efficient with GPGPU stuff, but Maxwell beats it now, and Fiji will likely Beat Maxwell. At this point I would not bother with a 295x2, unless you can get it for less than a pair of 290X's. for anything other than 4k gaming, two 295x2's in the same system, I don't even...
