Looking for something close to Gran Turismo. Not really looking for iracing, just career mode based. Dirt 3 is a definite candidate but I like the street more.

Crash Time 2? it's a bit of a German inspired game, but it's both a free roam and a racing game.

Most of those aren't sims. 

 

Assetto Corsa, Race Room Racing Experience, iRacing, those are examples of racing sims.

 

NFS shift series, Grid series, Dirt series, those are racing games, but they are not racing sims. 

 

Just wanted to clarify that. ;)

 

By the sounds of it, you're not really interested in hard-core sim physics, but more into the career mode aspect - in which case I would recommend the Grid, Dirt and NFS Shift series games.

Project Cars. Though it will first be launched in March. Still looks amazing.

Grid Autosport and Assetto Corsa is good current games.

OMG they are selling these "Alarm für Cobra 11" games internationally.

Never played one of those they are having IMO a bad image here.

Yea, Grid isn't a Sim but it also isnt that arcade-y either. I would recommend it because it seems like you don't want a hard core sim.

Indeed. I don't like the micro-transactions either. But at least you can try the game for free and see if it's worth it to you to buy additional tracks and cars. Now that they have added full races and online multiplayer racing, the game carries a lot more value and is definitely worth purchasing your favorite tracks and cars, IMO.

If you want a proper sim then Asetto Corsa or Project cars are good at simulating the racing expereince plus they both look really nice with a decent spec PC,

I have the latter and whilst It's not perfect yet it is still really good especially with a wheel and pedal set plus there is constant updates to it.

 

For something a less of full on sim but still sim-like then GRiD Autosport is a wise choice, proper racing action with a good career and generally a ton of fun to play.

The Grid series is similar to the NFS Shift series. They are more realistic than the average arcade racer, like Burnout etc., yes. But they are still very much arcade-style racing games. I find the cars just have way too much grip and braking force and they're FAR too forgiving when things get out of shape (get sideways).

 

I'm not saying they aren't fun though. ;)

Dirt Series, other than that there isn't much on pc in terms of realistic racers.....(they are like J-RPGs. there are some and the one who are there are normally pretty good, but compared to consoles there are way less)

What do you mean by "realistic racers"? If you mean in terms of physics, PC has the only true racing simulators (Assetto Corsa, R3E, iRacing, to name a few). I would add Project Cars to that list, but I have no idea what the physics are like in that game yet.

Trust me. There are no racing game that even close to gran Turismo on planet earth!

I hope the project cars will because i've stopped playing console already.

Apart from: live for speed, rfactor, assetto corsa, soon to be project cars, rfactor 2, basically all SimBin titles, f1 2010-13, race room experience, richard burns rally...
