I have it running on my 550d. Certainly had no issues with it and since it lives on the SD card there's no harm in trying it out and seeing how you like it. I would say the main benefits are enhanced visual feedback/overlays on exposure,  picture-in-picture zoom to check focus, and the automation features.

If you're the kind of photographer who does a lot of technical shots where you take your time to set up then there's a lot of value in it. Also if you shoot video there are some great tools in there too. If you're more a point'n'shoot guy then it's probably not worth it.

good software, might always come in handy.

i keep a SD card around with the software on it, just in case.

altough with time it gets less use since canon implants more, the same counts when you move up to higher end device's like the 7D m2 or full frame.

May the light have your back and your ISO low.

Worth knowing how to use it, but I rarely do.

The only thing I ever really used is the auto-restart feature when I do long multi-cam events.

For me it's more useful on lower end bodies like the Rebel series. There are features either omitted or buried deep in menu within menus, so it helps with accessibility, but for higher end bodies usually have those features easily accessible.

Also with ML you can play brick breaker on your camera, a nice time waster.

I was running Ml on my 60D(sold it for GH4), the feature that I used the most was time lapses shooting which canon never included in their DSLR for some reason, other than that there are a lot of features for shooting video easier such as focus peaking, zebra.
