DVI Cable?

grimmjow660

What DVI cable do I buy for my monitor? DVI-D, or DVI-I? Or Single or Dual Link?
I have a GTX 770 which supports both DVI-D and DVI-I.
My monitor just says DVI.

Here's my monitor.

I was thinking of buying this cable but I don't know if it'll work.

It doesn't matter if you use a DVI-D cable in a DVI-I output from your graphics card and as for your monitor it will take any of the two. The only time you'll see a DVI-I male plug is on a DVI-VGA adapter

That cable will work no problem since you are just running a 1080P screen @60 Hz, If you are in the USA might I suggest Monoprice cables are much better priced and fair.

My monitor only has a DVI D port though.

Get a DVI-D Cable then but a DVI-I would still work

How can a DVI I work if my monitor doesn't have those extra pins for DVI I?

Sorry I don't really understand

I think there is some confusion there but you can get an adapter for the monitor if you already have a DVI-I cable, basically no need to worry about cables.

Yeah a DVI-D cable (single link) will work for your situation so the cable from best buy will work with your monitor, I jsut suggest monoprice for it's value but they aren't selling any single link cables any more but they do have DVI-D (dual link) version for less.
