Driver might have crapped on you, card may have overheated and shut down for it to cool off, cable fell loose?

if it was a driver problem it normally resets (the driver while playing) its self

does this only happen in games ?

I have had a kinda similar issue. It turned out that the graphics card was dying. If you have another graphics card, try using that and if the problem stops. If it does then its time for a GPU upgrade.

This only happened this week. Been using this rig since the last few weeks. How can I revert to the old driver? It may be a driver issue right?
