Best open back headphones for 200 us dollars or less

LemonSpice

This is my friend he is mainly wanting to use these for games fps etc for their amazing sound stage. The sound signature he would like is for the music used for these would be pink floyd, arctic monkeys , Nirvana, The Vaccines. The linchpin of the device is the best sound stage for under 200. No mic required

I can promise you'll get the Sennheiser HD558s recommended a lot here. They're great and will leave you enough money to get a standalone mic with that budget if you wanted to.

The 700x feels amazing on my head and the sound is crisp and perfect. But I'm not anal about audio like most audiophiles are. I really can't see any downsides with them.

for me, it was great, playing through half-life 2 on headphone mode was so awesome, that game has aged well!

It's very open sounding with a large soundstage but HD558 IMO are most likely better overall.  I had the AD900X which is basically the 700x with a tiny bit of changes, I liked them, but they weren't really anything extremely special.  I think the 558 would be more comfortable.  Not that the 700x isn't comfortable, just that I've heard nothing but praise on how comfortable the 518/558/598 are.

For what the 700x/900x do, they're good at it, they have a very light-open feel to them that shines with female vocals and classical music, but for an all purpose headphone, I don't think they're that great for that, especially not after owning them for over a year.

For a 100-200$ headphone, the 900x and 700x are good, but things like the hd558 / dt990 / dt880 / akg q701 / akg k612 are probably just as good if not better.

You'll be fine with the majority of headphones under 60Ohms using your onboard audio;

I'm another person recommending the HD558s as an entry level headphone. I'm unsure as to how much they go for in the states, but I'm sure you can get it for under your budget.
