Getting back into Distributed Computing projects

Was bored today/this evening, so I decided I should finally get my farm set up from old laptops:

Currently have 4 laptops, 1 tri-core phenom, in the stack. Have 2x dual core atom systems waiting to be put in as well, both of which will get some AMD GPUs. Also thinking of adding an android-based tablet to the mix just for smiles.

Cisco gigabit switch makes networking easy. I have my quad-core NAS and gaming system running projects as well, but, they are used during the day (I work from home) so they will primarily contribute overnight.

Question: Am I better off contributing to Folding@home with this? Or a few projects on BOINC? Already switched to the Linus Tech Tips team on Collatz and Enigma :)

lol, while pretty inefficient roundabout way of going at it, it certainly is a fun setup :P. i did not come here expecting a laptop farm. I'd say the question is what you want to contribute to, you probably aren't better or worse off with either. I just want to have fun with it and know that i'm participating/contributing.

welcome to the team.

welcome to the team.

Thank! :)

Yeah, completely inefficient, although, I ought to see how well this performs after awhile and how much power this stack uses versus other single powerful computers etc.

But like you said, it's all about having fun.

The Chrome folding agent works really well on laptops and older systems...
