CS:GO Odd Ranking Matchups?

Hey guys so I got bored of playing Casual and Death match recently so I decided to play some competitive. I'm not that high of a rank though I'm Gold Nova 3 but anyway the first few games were pretty easy and a lot of fun but after awhile I was only getting matched up with MGE and MG2 players. this was obviously a lot more difficult I've won a few, lost a few but haevnt gone anywhere in rank. Why am I not getting matched with other Gold Novas? I get my skill level might be that of a MG player but I'd like to actually get that rank first

MM is always a bit wonky. they could very well be partied up with a gn3 or gn2 which could put you in game with them.

Are you playing with higher ranks? (like in your team). I always play with my friends who are like DMG and i'm only nova master, so obviously I get owned lol by all the stupidly high ranked players on the other team.

this usually happens when your about to rank up or playing with friend that are a higher rank

Silver isnt really a "low rank" silver is for those who don't understand the game fully yet so gold nova is the low ranks after you figure everything out.

CS:GO MM takes a few wins before you will actually rank up sometimes it is 4-5 sometimes anywhere up to 8 wins in a row and you will be promoted the reason you are getting match where you are is because the system thinks it is appropriate for you to be there and within time you will just end up getting ranked up after a couple of wins, it is a little weird but hey hey i float around Legendary Eagle Master and Global Elite sometimes it takes me 8 or more wins in a row to get back into global elite from supreme witch is damn near impossible.. either way enjoy the game and keep working on getting better.

Win rounds, that's all I can tell you. I often end up with aks and whatever higher than me, But I play with 2 friends and we usually end up winning, this brings you up at some point. Be strategic, CSGO is strategic as well, you know, don't be a Justin.

Once I got past double AK I never got any crazy matchups again.  Currently LEM and I pretty much only get LE's and LEM's

Not bs, you have to have a good team along with individual skill. It is a team game after all. As long as your team is good and works together you rank up really easily. If not, or you solo-queue you probably won't rank up very easily.

This. I started with SEM when I got my first 10 wins. I don't play CS Games often so I tried to adjust and after a week or so, kinda got the hang of it. GN3 atm and still trying to improve. Took me a while to get the recoil and damn, I keep on getting pwned back when I was silver cuz the characters blends a lot with the environment and I could hardly notice them!

There's a few settings you can tweak to make character models stand out more. However the game won't look as good as a result.

Well i dont know how that happpens... Im currently mge and get matched usually against mges, 1 or 2 dmgs. The teams have always been quite balanced, except one time but the enemie team played with a silver 1 and they were eagle & eagle master...
