Suggest me a case...

_Leigh

Hi guys

I'm looking for a new case to transfer my gear into. I currently have a cheapo Thermaltake case which firstly overheats a lot with a single 780 gtx, and with me wanting to to run sli, can't even begin to imagine how bad it'll be.

I'm after something with a window...and somewhat nice looking...something like the NZXT h440, or Corsair 760t

I'm set on the h440 because the 760 is  out of my budget, unless you guys can recommend something better!

System Specs:

Cpu: i5 4690k @ 4.40Ghz - Motherboard: Asrock Extreme6 z97. - GPU: Gigabyte GTX 970 g1. - Memory: 16gig 2400mhz G.skill Ripjaw X . - Corsair H80i CPU Cooler. - PSU XFX 850watt . - 3x Sandisk SDDs. - 5 TB HDD.

Phanteks Enthoo Pro.  Different aesthetic from H440, but it does come in white, and it has better airflow.  And it's slightly cheaper.

Fractal Core 3500

It looks good but removable proper fan filter is a must.

The side mesh is just yuck, idk what the designers were smokin. You can get cases with normal easy to remove and clean filter for under 50$

Enthoo pro  is topping my list at the moment, only because it has space for optical drives and the h440 doesn't. It's also cheaper than the h440 and also comes in white!

If you have large cards that produce lots of heat then you need good airflow from the bottom of your cards out of the case top. I ran crossfire 7950 with dual fan heat sink from asus to bitcoin mine and the cards were cooking daily. The other option is a card that exhaust heat out the back of the case like an r9 or your 780. If you have that type of card then u need to feed them cold air. A side fan directly on the card will help or put cold air to the front of your card so it exhaust out the back.. From my experience with both types I can say that I hate fan noise. I also ran a cross fire 6990 set up and they are so loud at full boar you'll think you have a gas leak in the house not to mention turning the heat off in that room in winter.

In choosing a case get one that fits what u need. Looks good. And has excellent thermal flow. If you have the money and want this machine to run a lot you may want to consider a water cooling option. Fans can only help with heat not get you really quite low temp.

I have 4 cases nzxt phantom first build. Dell 531 custom build. Complete custom build. And a monster haf x with xeons.

What motherboard do you have?

I have a gigabyte z97m d3h - my system mainly overheats because of my crappy case, hence why I'm wanting to get a new case
