My Take on the Dominator Platinum Light Bar Upgrade Kit

Dominator Platinum's Native Illumination wasn't as good as I would've liked.

But after this upgrade it's fantastic !
 
Although, the finish on the Light Bars are something to be desired.

It certainly doesn't look cheap but not as premium as the Original !

The upgrading process wasn't really complicated.

Corsair kindly included additional screws & an allen key with the kit.

Kit only has Arctic White & Cerulean Blue bars and

I would've loved to see few more color options on the bars.

But all that said & done, this was worth every penny   :wub:

Great, now comes the long wait for it to hit my neck of the woods, if ever. IF it does come, I'd prolly get two pairs of white kit, since my main rig internals red.....

Hmm, the kits are cheaper than I expected at 20$. But still I feel the Dominators are too expensive... and why could't they have included the colored bars in the first place? Hardware DLC :P

 

But the pictures are very nicely taken ^^

Yeah right ? I've already paid a premium for these, they should have included it !
and the quality of the bars aren't all that great compared to the original :/

I still prefer G.SKILL Trident X to Corsair Dominator Platinum memory. Those light bars do look sexy, though :)

Alright! Just confirmed that I should be getting two pairs of these upgrade kits for my Dom Plat in a few days' time, I'd asked for white ones since my rig has red LED.....the white LED would be a nice contrast.

So true, it's so like hardware DLC.....I mean, everything is there, Corsair could simply have shipped the Dom Plat with these lightbars, but no, we've got to pay extra for them!

 

Despite all my bellyaching, I'm expecting my 2nd set to come tomorrow, already have and installed the first pair lightbars for my Dom Plat, took out my other two non-modded Dom Plat RAM to be set aside till tomorrow.

Just a single pic would do since you have done a heck of a bang up job with your first post....I chose white to contrast against the red LED that is overwhelming everything else.

The pics say more than what can be said in words......a picture paints a thousand words, so to say. What can be said about the Lightbar kit? It simply adds bling bling to the RAM and does nothing else. It's simple to install, just follow the instructions in the accompanying 'manual' and it's done.

Hadn't I covered this already? It adds bling bling to the RAM, makes it look cool with the lit up bar and that's about it......it doesn't improve performance or anything remotely connected to performance.

Oh i was confused by the contrast on some of the pictures I thought they were adding extra light some how, thought the windowed little ports were stock, my mistake. 

 

If you look the first 2 pictures + caption followed by later pictures + caption are a tad misleading.

I think they should have sold the kit clear with many different film colors to satisfy the end users.
