Alternative controller for shield tablet

So I managed to get a shield tablet to New Zealand despite customs wanting to ticket me for it (didn't have to in the end), but was only able to get the tablet  and not the controller. My problem now is I'm unable to find it anywhere for anything less than a ridiculous price.

 

So what is the best alternative controller?

 

I've seen people use an xbox 360 controller with android tablets before using OTG, but something more simple would be preferable.

PS3 controller with sixaxis controller and a rooted device.

Quite a complicated solution and the only other one that I can think of other than just buying a dedicated Android controller.

I had a look at other android controllers and most of the good ones are design to cradle phone above the controller(like shield portable), but I'll have a look. Thanks

Looks like I'll be getting the madcatz C.T.R.L gamepad. Thanks for the feedback

Moga have some Android compatible controllers but I don't know if there're available in New Zealand.
