Anti aliasing and anisotropic

FlyingNuggets

Does AA, Anisotropic filtering and Ambient Occulsion need to be switch on? Does it really make any difference when the settings are already at 1080p  + Maximum Graphic quality settings? Im Trying to reduce my GPU load so it would not get so hot as i game for long hours.

Load usually stays the same no matter the settings, it's just able to draw more frames in a second.

AA reduces jagged edges on sharp angles

Anisotropic filtering - improves clarity of textures

Ambient Occlusion - improved scene lighting

I would first turn off AO , then Turn down AA, and finally turn down AF, in that order

Or see if you can keep the others high and turn AA off

Use Vsync then, because your GPU will not lower the load, it will still be fully loaded, you will just get higher frame rates. The thing to do is to turn on Vsync, it locks the framerate to the monitor refresh rate (usually it's 60 fps) so your gpu won't go higher.

TIP: Games like League of Legends and many others will run over 100fps easily, so switch them to 60-80fps in the settings to keep a good smooth framerate while the hardware remains cool. :)
