SSD Choices

I am in a predicament... Is it worth it to shell out the extra 100$ to get an Intel 730 Series than to get the Samsung 840 Evo?

okay... I have heard great reviews on both of them and wasn't sure which one to get... I know many people prefer the 730 series over the Evo....but the Evo seems like it has so many more features

I was looking at these

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820147247

and I was told on Overclock.net to consider this

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820148820&cm_re=Crucial_MX100-_-20-148-820-_-Product

But idk how good it is....

I am now also considering this

Samsung is over hyped kinda like nvidia. Go with a cheaper just as good drive the one from crucial.

in 256GB the 850 Pro is better that the 730 by quite a bit. Only the 480GB 730 has full performance.

The cricual MX100 is a step down from the evo the Crucial M550 would be its direct competitor. If your looking for a 256GB enthusiast drive the 850 Pro is currently the king and will likely stay that way just like the 840 Pro did. Also not much more can be done on SATA III

so you think it would be better to send back my 730 and get the 850 Pro?

I mean its a great drive but if you got the 240GB the 256GB 850 Pro is better significantly on everything except consistency.

Too bad you already ordered. For the money, you could get twice the capacity with MX100 compared to 730 :P

Intel really sux when it comes to consumer ssds and they are pretty much just riding on their good name establised in the past (good example of this is recently released 2500PRO)

Intel has some of the best support I've ever delt with, any intel product I've ever owned I've had no problems with... So I trust them

Please get off your MX100 horse. Also the 2500 just like its predecessor the 1200 is a business ssd. The 1200 wasnt even available at retail.

But 2500 is available and is a shit drive. Basicly meaningless for pretty much anyone. It doesn't offer anything more than consumer drives (well except for vPro) and on top of all it doesnt feature a single intel component.

Please get off your MX100 horse.

Why exactly ? Its the king of value right now and Samsung fanboys just dont want to admit that.

That doesn't mean they are a good choice though. There are plenty of reliable drives that have great support. And cost almost half as much.
