gpu advise

Carpelini

Quite simple.

Gigabyte gtx780 ghz edition

Or

Msi r9 290x gaming

I will play in a single monitor at 1080.

They sell for the same price in my country around 486 €.

I could go for lower price price gpu looking at my monitor but it is a present so i can go all out :)

The R9 290X is a better performing GPU and the twinfrozr is superior to the windforce overall...but what about an R9 290 (non X) it performs within 6% of the 290X sometimes for much less...

yes it will...the gap will grow even bigger if you play on higher resolution, but yes it's a better card.

I hate when people answer a question outside the parameters of the original inquiry, but get EVGA if you're going Nvidia.

Project Insomnia

Debatable.  EVGA's customer service is choice, though.

The R9 290X is a faster GPU, it does consume a little more power, but it perform better even at 1080P

If you have the time plese check this review

http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/graphics/2014/03/14/gigabyte-geforce-gtx-780-ghz-edition-review/3

The 780 ghz performs like a monster like a ti and better then r9 290x ...

Really can't make a choice ... love both

look i had first hand experience with both cards and i'm telling you the r9 290X is a superior gpu, not by much but it does perform better...

are you looking at maybe purchasing a shield or do you plan on recording your gameplay to make youtube video and stuff?

if so, the gtx780 should be your pick...if not, get the 290X

can someone back me up on this? look i'm not biaised i do have a 780 myself and i would trade her for a 290X right away hands down...with the 4gb of VRAM i could run watchdogs and titanfall on highest texture settings.. :(

the r9 290x is on par with a GTX titan wich is about 9% faster than a 780.

btw i did looked at the review and for bf4 yes the nvidia perform better because of better driver optimisation but amd can run mantle and decimate them all...

Either of the chips are good with a slight edge to the 290x. But at least here in the US. The 290x is a bit more expensive. I have had a good experience with MSI videocards myself but that is just one persons luck.

Personally if you got a budget of 500 euro, get a 280x/770 and a ssd like the 840evo. Be like butter.
