How to set up digital camera as webcam?

I have 2 old-ish digital cameras and i would like to use one of them as a webcam.

The models are: Lumix DMC FH8 and Lumix DMC FH2.

 

I can't find the AV cable, but when i do (or if i purchase one), will i be able to use it as a webcam somehow?

 

PS I also have a Canon 550D but that has overheating issues so i can't use it to film / as a webcam

 

I would also like to know which kind of connector the camera has (looks like micro hdmi mixed with mini usb, i am so unsure)

You use a capture card such as the Elgato Game Capture. Then you use a software like Xsplit to make your PC think your Xsplit is your webcam (just have XSplit displaying what your camera sees)

On a side note, would the avermedia live portable also do the job?

I realised the avermedia extremecap u3 is a good new device that comes with some adapter.

Might get that.

If i do want to stream from xsplit, can use the camera in a different scene or will i have to use OBS to stream and xsplit for the camera?

Yes, the avermidea live portable would also work. Any capture card would honestly work.

Not the avermedia portable lite as it doesn't have a usb-in.
