Hello all, I am going to be building a PC soon and I am really new at this so I apologize for my ignorance beforehand. I would just like to know the exact performance hit I will take in video editing and rendering. I plan on editing and uploading videos to Youtube. Will this just be slower on an i5-4670k, or will I not be able to do it at all?? If the hyper threading is necessary, I will buy an i7-4770k. But I am graduating high school soon, so I don't have much money to spare because of college. I also don't know whether or not to buy a capture card.

It will be somewhat slower doing that. It will still work, though. And don't get a capture card, especially if you have a Kepler-based Nvidia graphics card.

I would recommend getting a good GPU.

I plan on pairing it with a GTX 780, which is the bulk of my budget xD

Dxtory user myself, even when i had an older card i took virtually no hit in performance.

The codec makes the biggest difference.
