where did i screw up?

aidenrelkoff

so i was in the market for a new fan, so i dident really know what size i needed, so i went to this site and i checked:

http://www.quietpc.com/faq/27

anyways it said 105mm from screw hole to screw hole was a 120mm fan. WELL my fan is 105mm from the top right screw to the bottem left. thats what i thought...... i guess they ment 105mm from top right to top left or something............

so now i got this great fan, and i cant use it......

so my question is, what fan size do i need? its 105mm from screw to screw diagonally.

only really 2 sizes being used, 120 and 140mm fans, so if its too small you want 140, NOW there is a issue tho with some fan models being wierd, i got it on my case where the round fans dont fit... im guessing you got the same issue

You don't measure diagonally you measure horizontally or vertically.

EDIT: It is probably an 80mm then. You should remeasure but vertically this time. From top left to bottom left.

Should have posted up a picture of the mounting area, a lot of us can tell the size of fan that can fit in there from personal experience. Also unless you have a really bad case, the product page on the case website should tell you what fans fit in different parts of your case.
