Microsoft's Office comes to Chromebook Devices (finally)

"Microsoft isn't done with Office updates just because it released Office for iPad and madeOffice Mobile completely free -- it has a bunch of improvements in store for Office Online, too. To start with, Office has reached the Chrome Web Store. You can now launch most of the productivity suite's web apps (Excel is due soon) in the Chrome browser or Chrome OS just by clicking a shortcut. It seems that Microsoft is finally starting to open its doors and understand that other platforms are gaining popularity within the market. I believe this move from them is certainly a good one and will help boost the sales of Chromebooks indefinitely and will be a great addition for current Chrokmebook users.

Deal breaker until "soon" becomes "now". Seriously not to offend homework makers susceptibilities or anything but other alternative word processors were fine, spreadsheets alternatives however are not at all fine and most business users just need excel still.

If this is true then the Chromebooks are starting to look like a viable option for people looking to upgrade from they're old Xp machines.
