Steam In-Home Streaming

Holy balls... I joined the group for in home streaming ages ago when Linus first was talking about it and totally forgot about it until today. I grabbed my godawful Macintosh laptop from 2008 and sitting 1 floor up and like 30 feet from my shitty 802.11b router it worked flawlessly. My laptop is 1280x800 so I played in 720p and it looked amazing. I played through a quest in Skyrim, I killed some bad dudes in BL2, and built some stuff in my banished town and it all worked just soooooooo ridiculously well from my gaming PC (check my account for the deets). I was skeptical when Linus was so enthused about this service but wowzas this is amazing and I'm just like blown away. If you haven't tried this out yet I strongly suggest joining the group and trying it out for yourself. My laptop has a 2.4 ghz intel core 2 duo and 2 gbs of 667 mhz ram and is running OSX snow leopard. tl;dr: steam in home streaming is amazing and you should try it.

I'm looking forward to set up a htpc on my living room TV (1080p, 42") to use with Steam In Home streaming, I have a couple of old PCs and video cards around the house, I want to pick one, purchase a decent wireless adapter (I'm still on wireless N), and start to enjoy. The router is only 4 meters away from the TV, there are no walls in between, so it should play smooth. My gaming PC is wired to the router.

AOC Q2770PQU is a 1440p 27" PLS panel just like the Asus model, even has rotate and  a usb 3 hub

 

in the UK it was £150 cheaper than the Asus and uses practically the same panel (cost £355)

 

Mine arrives today, I will be doing a review of it because there isnt much data on these around the web - ordered with blind faith
