$4k Gaming Rig, and Water cooling, looking for feed back. *Updated 03/9/14*

Hello everyone, so I plan on picking up a new gaming system as my laptop is getting on in years, and I would like to ask for some feedback/advice on the system that I'm going to be building. I'm building it on the NCIX website, and using the Corsair Dream Machine XG as the base, and have interchanged and modded the system as to fit what I would like to build. Thank you very much, I look forward to hearing from everyone.

The current price tag on this system is $3500.

The current build is as follows:

1 x EVGA GeForce GTX 780 Ti Dual Classified w/ Hydro Copper Cooler 3G 384BIT SLI Ready Graphics Card
1 x Intel Core i7 4770K Unlocked Quad Core 3.5GHZ Processor LGA1150 Haswell 8MB Cache Retail
1 x ASUS Maximus VI Extreme ATX LGA1150 Z87 DDR3 SATA3 USB3.0 DVI HDMI Motherboard
1 x Corsair Dominator Platinum 16GB 2X8GB DDR3-1866 240PIN C9 DIMM 1.5V Dual Channel Memory Kit
1 x Corsair Obsidian 900D ATX Super Tower Case w/ Window 4X5.25 9X3.5INT USB3.0 No PSU
1 x Corsair AX1200I 1200W Digital ATX 12V 80 Plus Platinum Modular Power Supply 140mm Fan
2 x Bitfenix BFA-ACL-30GK15-RP Alchemy LED Connect Lit Strip 30CM 15 LEDs - Green *OEM*
1 x Microsoft Windows 8.1 64Bit English DVD OEM
1 x Intel 530 Series 240GB SATA SSD MLC 2.5in 7.0MM OEM Package
1 x Western Digital Caviar Black 2TB 64MB Cache 7200RPM 3.5in SATA Internal Hard Drive OEM

15 x Scythe Gentle Typhoon 120mm Japan Servo Double Ball Bearing Case Fan 3000RPM 36.5DBA 83.0CFM

Now, I plan to watercool everything, the Typhoon's are mostly for the RADS, but I'm still rather new to watercooling, so If anything has advice on this topic as well, I would very much appriecate it, I will be making a post in that section and will link it too this post, and vice versa.

you don't need a 1200w PSU, 900 is plenty.

Why don't you go X79 instead?

You can go x79 like beeskadoo said. For the price why not. And if you want a quiter build lose the WD blacks and go for a green or a seagate barricuda

Ya, I was already thinking about dropping the PSU down some, I was just thinking in terms of over volting, over clocking, etc. I was also going to run two of the cards, which is primarily why I have it in their, I only recently decided to rung one for now. As for going with a X79, I haven't really found any boards that I'm particularly fond of, but if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.

What would you recommend in terms of X79, I haven't really I am fond of but am all ears for suggestions. Noise isn't much of an issue for me because I typically always have headphones on.

For x79 a 4930k 6 core cpu. Performs like a 4960x once overclocked. It just doesnt have tehe L3 Cache of the 4960x

4,000 and you're not getting dual GPU? da fuq

And you don't need the 3000 RPM model for the gentle typhoons.  Get the 1800 RPM model, or the 1450.  3000 RPM will sound like a jet engine.

I'll put together a pcpartpicker list from canada and send it.

Maybe get a bigger SSD or just use all SSD's. HDD's are so 1999.

CORSAIR RIPPER: AMD 3970X - 3080TI & 2080TI - 64GB Ram - 2.5TB NVME SSD's - 35" G-Sync 120hz 1440P

u can get so much more for that price if u dont waste it on things like an rog board, dominator platinum ram, 900d and a 1200w psu!

That system wont last any longer than mine and i only spent like $1700Aud

drop the 1200 to 750 which is enough to even SLi 780tis. Drop down to a 8gb ram, less expensive mobo and just use yateloons, don't bother buying 2 grand worth of fans. If you have enough rad space that you need 15 fans then I doubt you really need extremely high RPM/Static pressure fans.

I very much want too, but I'm trying to figure out which ones would be best to pick up. What would you suggest in terms of 780 Ti's?

Thank you very much, I'm not an expert, so I'm glad their are kind enough folks to point out things such as this.

That sounds awesome, thank you very much!.

If you really "want" all those overkill parts, (dom platinums, ROG board, classified cards) then here:

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/30WyY

If not, you can make the entire build+ custom loop 4k, easily.  While still getting 780 ti's

Edit:

With cheaper less "un-needed" parts, : http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/30WCn

You can add another 900-1000$ and build a custom loop easily and still be around the 4k budget.

Ya, I think I'm going to be down grading a lot of what I have in the current build, but I have a decent foundation of knowledge but by no means do I consider myself an expert, so would you have any recommendations?

I was thinking the doubling the size of the SSD, or going with multiple SSD's. I'm only picking up a HDD to store music, videos, pictures, etc.

I can't thank you enough for both of the setups that you worked on, this is incredibly helpful and exactly was I looking for. I very much appreciate it.

If you can find out where you can buy watercooling parts from in canada, I can help with that too.  You could get 2 780's instead, and spring for custom cables if you wanted too, and maybe a bigger SSD

I will take a look around, and see if I can find some other sites that have a decent selection, as for right now I'm basically using NCIX as a home base.

http://products.ncix.com/category/water-cooling-a3-1165.htm

I also just remembered about Newegg, this may of use as well,

http://www.newegg.ca/Fans-PC-Cooling/Category/ID-11

As in the normal 780's? or just two reference 780 Ti's?. I was thinking about getting a larger SSD, I will just shop around and see how the difference is, I think I would like to double the size.
