1440p PC for 1500€ ?

yMe
Go to solution Solved by elfensky,

tbh since his budget is 1500€ he should be able to include a Ti relatively easily/painlessly.

~700€ - 980Ti
~300€ - i5/i7

that leaves 500€ for mobo/psu/case/ram which is plenty and matters a lot less...

If you REALLY want a watercooled GFX you can go with a 970 and buy a block for it, or get the Fury X that's watercooled from the get go.

Hello everyone,

I really need your help picking my components for my new PC  .

I also have my ideas but I'd like to hear yours, ^_^

If possible: Green Parts, Water cooling ( GFX card too. ), Corsair Obsidian 760T.

! I've seen Linus' video about the 4K build and I fell in love with the design, but I'd like to know if there are better choises for components.

The price should not include a Monitor or any peripherals.

Although I'd like to know if there is a good priced monitor.

Thanks a lot for your help. :D

Look I've supported AMD for many years now, but they really f*cked things up with the Fury X.

I think the best card on the market right now is the EVGA 980TI Hybrid. It's super quiet, runs at sub 50C and overclocks like hell.

Shame it doesn't have custom PCB at that price

Looking forward to getting one of these (and maybe the second one around christmas) but damn they are 800€.

P.S.: If you are in the US there is not a single excuse to not get a 295X2, at 550$ on sale on Newegg it's just unbeliveable bang for buck.

SLI has it's own issues. TB made a bunch of comments about it on his Arkam port report, but I would go with either a 980 or a Ti if you can swing the extra $$

I am not OP aka I will not buy any new stuff any time soon.

I am poor as f***..

But, let's not get into that.

I think the 980 ti seems to be a pretty good option while the 980 (non ti) seems to be okay.

The SLI problems are certainly out there,

but, a single 970 will probably suffice for the games that do not support SLI.

Edit: I do not know why my spoiler is acting up, so I apologize for the extra space that it is taking.

For 1440p, the 970 might** be a bit strained for newer AAA titles. But if money is a concern, get the 970.

Otherwise, I'd get a 980 Ti over an SLI 970. Unless you only had $350 now and wanted to buy a second 970 at a later date.

And to show non bias, I have a 970 and planned to buy another 970 eventually and SLI them.

As the Jay video said, the only thing that came close to the 3.5 gb 970 vram was Far Cry at 4k.

BUT in a year or two, this might not be the case...

I will still not be buying anything especially not a gpu.

I agree with your comment though.

Since most people play older games this won't matter much anyways..

But, I do think that it will take longer time than what most people expect.

"Humans" always overestimate technological evolvement and therefor I will rather underestimate what people say (most of the time).
