Yes, it will be more than good enough.

 

Consider getting an i7 4790 instead for the increased clockspeed or an i7 5820K if you can afford it, an X99 motherboard and DDR4 and need extreme power though.

I'd consider getting a Xeon if you're not going to overclock the chip.

It stands for scalable link interface. It's used for multiple nvidia graphics cards. Don't mind him he's trolling. The 4790k is a great choice for gaming and editing.
