What kind of speakers should I buy?

KillGreen
Go to solution Solved by Turtle Rig,

Just get a pair of logitech THX certified 2.1.  Which means you will get a great sub woofer, 2.0 means no sub woofer and when it comes to music and sound the sub woofer is very very very very very important.. trust me my friend. I have been producing music for over 21 years,, so Im not talking from my A** .. YOu said you dont want bass and how it will sound clearer without bass ?  That is a insanely wrong comment.  I don't know man maybe it's cuz Im a audiophile ....... but ya everything matters a nice crisp treble, good solid mids,, but believe me when I say without bass the sound is dead and the music is dead man.

So go to amazon and search for "logitech 2.1 thx" you will find one in the hundreds, but they will last you many many and I mean decades long.  Plus logitech RMA is the best in this world.  They send you back a brand new product and you dont even send back yours..  They ask for it but you dont send it.  Ive done this 7 times with Logitech...... so ya,,.. THX basically means it passes some standards from Lucas Film ... this usually means a 200 to 400 watt speaker system that will give you movie like sound.  The quality of the system is good automatically when it says THX.  You dont have to worry about it sounding like a toy and what not.

Hello.

I want to buy speakers for my pc. I was actually thinking just to buy JBL Charge 3 and connect it to my pc via 3.5mm jack. Having those speakers would give me posibillity to take them with myself if such opportunity comes. But now I am starting to doubt my decision. Maybe I should just buy normal PC speakers and thats it? Are there PC speakers under a 100 Euros that would sound better than JBL Charge 3? If so could you give me some examples? Or specs that I should look into when choosing?

Sorry if this question seems dumb, I am really bad with choosing Audio products...

2.1 or 2.0 channel speakers would do for me.

Mainly I would use to listen to music that is not Bass dependant, so I would like to have sound as clear as possible.

Thank you in advance

Thank you for suggestions

Do you have a budget in mind?  Because there is alot of options.

I have a set of Micca MB42x + Micca Origain Amp with a pre-out to a previously enjoyed Velodyne 10" powered subwoofer for an insanely good sounding 2.1 system the imaging is fantastic.  I got up from my desk the other day and went to take off my headphones to realize I was using my speakers for the video I was watching...      These are worth looking into and get great reviews.

They also make a Powered version called the Micca PB42x which im sure would be good for most people but they might be harder to hook a subwoofer up to.

Cheers.

Sorry for late reply. I was thinking up to 150 euros. I have looked up Micca PB42x seems really nice. But one problem is that they do not sell it here in Lithuania for some reason...

Logitech.... and you have been producing music for 21 years?  There is a lot better companies out there making audio equipment than Logitech.  Sure there stuff can be OK for general use but wouldn't come close to a decent set of bookshelf speakers + amp then buying a proper subwoofer later.  Ones like @Zombiesnax suggested.

You could look up the Klipsch R-14PM as well. On those you allso have the ability to add a subwoofer later.

Thank you, I will sure look into these, but right now they are a bit out of my price range. Maybe I would be able to find used ones that work good :)

Hi, so I usually order from a local reselers. Problem is their websites do not have English translations for some crazy reason.
I will post a few links that you could look into, problem is they will not be in English. Maby Chrome will give you an option to translate the whole site in English tho...

But feel free to post me amazon links as well. Usually I can find it here.

Also just so you know. Right now I am just looking for speakers that I will use to have with my pc. I the future I am planning to buy a proper audio system for my living room. So these do not have to bet top of the line best ones

This guy doesn't wan't studio monitors 1.5k each,,   He doesn't want a super audiophile speakers that are 300 or more dollars.  He wants a nice 2.1 setup that is bang for the buck.  The Logitech speakers are good, the creative speakers are toys and blow goat big time.

Oh I have used Klipsch 4.1 20 years ago.  Once again THX certified and the sound was great, but its out of your budget.  I doubt hes going to tell a difference between the more expensive Klipsch and the solid 100 dollar or more 2.1 logitech thx.

I recommend the Edifier e10 Exclaim desktop speaker as I've been using them for the past 5 years without any issues. They don't take up a lot of space on your desk. The sound quality is very adequate for the price and the volume is satisfactory for my needs. I got them for $100 CAD = $65 Euros.
