Stay with my pc or buy new one?

d3one

I want to buy new PC, I thought to wait for the Intel 10mn but we already know they won't get release before 2019 (maybe 2020).

My PC specs are:

I7-3770k @ 4.2Ghz

16GB DDR3 1866MHz

GA-Z77X-UP5

GTX1080Ti

If I decide to buy new PC I think I'll go for i9-9900k .

My PC is 6 and half years old, it still doing his job.

What do you think I need to do?

Sorry for my bad English.

Well the i9 9900K would be a gigantic upgrade from the 3770K but a very expensive one also.

It all comes down to... can you wait? we might have AMD finally taking the performance crown next year with 7nm also.

Be sure to get a new PSU. You're approaching the end of the expected life of your current one, more than likely.

9900k is a great platform, but it won't be easily available for a few weeks. Though really more into 2019. Icelake/10nm is either late 2019 or early 2020.

If you are planning to play games, the 9900k will have no benefit over the 9700k or even the 7700k, as it's per-thread performance is within 10% of the 7700k.

I'd reccomend upgrading your CPU and Motherboard to a 6th-9th generation Intel i7. However your GPU will definitely serve you for years.

i7-7700k | GTX 1080 Ti | 32GB 3100MHz | Prime Z270-AR
