Hi,

I'm looking into upgrading/updating my PC.

I was looking at buying an i7 4930K and an X79 LGA 2011 motherboard from a Lenovo S30 workstation (standard ATX I believe) and getting 16GB 1866Mhz DDR3 RAM to go with it.

I'll most likely pair it with either an RX 590 or a 980 Ti.

That seems pretty damn close to brand new prices.  But your pounds of sterling confuse us here in the Colonies.

Yeah, sorry about that. I accidentally left it until the Americans and Canadians started coming online (it's 2AM here). The mobo would be 180 USD and the CPU would be 256 USD.

Oh yeah, definitely don't.  Listen to @Jurrunio.  Very knowledgeable.

Thing is the mobos are cheaper for Ryzen here but the CPUs are about the same sort of price..

Then you'll be paying the same price for the better CPU.
