Hi guys, im from Brasil and im switching CPUs in a few weeks, but for that i need to add thermal paste into the new CPU, but here we dont have much options,the only good ones i could find is: artic silver5, thermaltake tg7 or tg8 and cooler master master gel marker, which one is better (im not gonna OC, its gonna be a i7 4790 and a h60 cooler)

Main rig: CPU: Ryzen 7 3700X cooled by a Noctua NH-U14S; Mem: 16 GB(2x8) G.Skill TridentZ White 3200 MHz; GPU: EVGA RTX 2070 XC; MOBO: MSI B450 Tomahawk; Storage: XPG Spectrix S40G M.2 512GB SSD; Kingston A400 480GB SSD; 1TB Western Digital Blue HDD; PSU: Corsair CX750M Semi-modular (80+ bronze); CASE: Thermaltake Commander C36.

 

Secondary rig: CPU: Intel Core i7 4790 @3.60GHz(Turbo @4.00GHz) cooled by Corsair H60; Mem: G.Skill RipJawsX DDR3 16GB(4x4) OC@2133MHz (11-11-11-30 (1.6V)); GPU: None(for now); MOBO: Gigabyte Z87-HD3; Storage:HyperX 120GB; PSU: Thermaltake SmarT series 750w (80+ bronze); CASE: Thermaltake Chaser A41.

I'd use pigeon crap as thermal paste. Jk lol. Arctic Silver5 it is.

 

But is the 4790 a non-K version or do you mean 4790K? If non-K, why H60 cooler?

Hmmm, I haven't used any of those but I wouldn't imagine any one of them is much better than the other.  I say that because I haven't heard good or bad things about any of them though, but I have heard of them all.

I personally use Artic Silver, however most thermal pastes when applied correctly are within a few degrees of one another. Don't stress about making the right choice because it will almost always be impossible to notice.

Lol, well when i bought this PC in 2014 the h60 was almost nothing more expensive than good aircooler,then i bought it

Thanks, i guess i will buy any of the three that is the cheapest, just staying away from crappier brands and i guess i will be ok :)

I see. Then I guess we got almost the same lol. When I was about to finish my list for PC parts, I almost chosed the Noctua NH-ND-14, just to cool the fucking 4770 hahaha. But others have helped and got the Hyper 412S, much cheaper and it has been working nicely since I got it back in 2014.

 

Brasil seems to have the PC parts very expensive or other parts not available, is that true?

Yes, for example a GTX 1070 is around $600 dollars, thats due to our taxes, almost 40% of the price is taxes
