EVGA power supplies good?

Im_Ben

So I'm thinking of upgrading my PSU to an EVGA SuperNOVA 750 G3 or maybe the 650 version. I was wondering if anyone has any experience with their power supplies, or if you recommend anything else?

What model are you coming from? As in why would you upgrade?
Yes, they are great PSUs.

I bought a somewhat OK PSU from cooler master. It was the Cooler Master MasterWatt 750, but it isn't great. The reason I want to upgrade: It's loud,  when the fans kick in the fans make a really annoying sound and it's got coil whine.

those are great, as well as the t2 and g2 series. just don't cheap out and look up the tier list I would say. or ask Jon Garow

Gotcha, thanks.

The G3 has issues with its protections, and it's among the loudest PSUs you can get.

What are you powering?

So a good 550W is absolutely plenty.

Depending on what's available and the pricing, Straight Power 11, Whisper M, RMx 2018, RMx or G2. Loosely from more to less recommended.

If none of those are available for decent prices, there are also some others.
