2018 PC BUILD HELP

Okay, so long story short, I am planning for yet another build for the upcoming Black Friday and Cyber Monday. So far, I have my potential build but I would like to see if this is a good build. I have a budget of 1000 dollars, and plan on using it for college work and gaming (not gaming extremest). 

The dream build consisted of the following:

CPU: Intel i5-7400-$216.99

GPU: Sapphire PULSE Radeon RX 570 4GB-$174.99

RAM: G.SKILL Aegis 16GB-$104.99

Not really.

  • You're using an ancient processor. Go for something 8th gen.
  • No need to use a Z series motherboard with a locked processor (though the price isn't terrible).
  • Get a better PSU; check the LTT PSU tier list.
  • I wouldn't get a 27" 1080p monitor.

You can also look at getting something like a used 980 Ti. It will handily beat an RX 580 or GTX 1060, and it's about the same price (~$220-250)

I see Kaby Lake, I fail the list. Atm budget users should get Ryzen CPUs, specifically (for $800+) I'll recommend the Ryzen 5 1600/2600.

 

Also the PSU, isn't good by 2018 standards. Get something tier 3 or higher. 450w PSUs are more than capable of powering new mid range hardware
