I know this may not be the right place for this I don't have a place or anyone I can tell.

I met a guy today who came to my shop browsing for some pc parts. We got talking and he told me his life story,

I don't know if its considered a hard life, a father that never showed him love a mother that works 2 jobs to keep the food on the table and he himself is a dialysis patient for almost 7yrs. He's 15 but he seems so depressed with a smile that looked so forced. None of the family on his father side wants to interact with his family because of the father's actions, his mom has 3 brothers but words can destroy a person's heart. the uncle he saw a father figure said to him "he was nothing but a burden to his mother and he should just disappear" I mean as a family member even if you don't like someone in your family you don't have to say such words, even if he's sick  I see him working as a promoter in a costume, trying so hard to help his mom everyday,

He came into my shop looking to buy a cheap motherboard and a 2200G so he could use for his studies, but I get a story that shows me how lucky I am to have a uncle that helped me even start my bisnuess

I don't know what to do or what to say to him all I could do was to give him a hug and pray that things would be better for him, words can hurt more then punches and kicks so please be careful with your words to your classmate or friend it could rip a person's heart out

thank you for reading to the end and sorry if I have wasted your time

Thats one thing as a business owner you will have to deal with from time to time. Sometimes you will have people who come in and will try and lay on the water works to try and get a better deal, and sometimes it will be truthful. Since the kid was 15, its very possible the story was true, but you need to be sympathetic, but at the same time need to try and remove your feelings from the equation sometimes if you want to be successful and succeed as a business owner and entrepreneur. That said, I think with this story, you could probably get away with selling him the parts at cost instead of mark up for profit for a one time deal.

I know this sounds crude and harsh, but its the reality we face if you want to succeed and be successful as a business owner.

When your sick when your a kid, and growing up as a often sick, you always will think you are nothing but a burden on those around you. You often struggle to keep friends because they think you are sickly and dont want to bother. Often times just show them kindness and teach them that people care, then they will show you the real smile.

Or he could be telling you a life story to try getting free stuff and pull your heart strings, and people can be really  good at acting and such. Just have to be solid and not do stuff because once you do it for this guy, others may come in

I know what you mean but the thing is when I tried to give him the motherboard and cpu he said "no"

All he wanted from me was my friendship. When he slowly walked out saying thank you, it hit me realizing how sick he was. I wish I can do something for him but I don't know what, no matter even if I give him a free pc will he get better? It breaks my heart to think I'm 16 and he's only a year younger then me and he's been doing dialysis for the past 7 years being on machines since he was 8yrs old

sadness and negativity does not travel far. more often than not. you need to keep those things within yourself.

also sometimes when shit hit the fan, there is not much logic in it. you can't ask why. you just carry on.

I am still learning that myself.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.

He'd probably be better off buying a laptop if he's doing dialysis.

just a freakish coincidence I met someone at a very rural place and we shared the same bus. I had been struggling with some shit and the other person I met on the bus is like another version of me. I saw her and felt I just look into mirror and saw exactly how I behaved for a long time.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.
