I fucked my mobo, or cpu?

Yo homies, I am more experienced now however I would like some guidance. After buying a ryzen 3 1200 the minute it came out, and getting deals from friends I acquired a asrock x370 mini itx board and a gtx 780ti, I am also running a 2x8gb kit of rip jaws 5 at 2400mgz. I was transferring cases last weekend and managed to brake something. My pc wont turn on, but when I plug in my psu to it my keyboard lights up for a second. I can only afford to get a new cpu or a new motherboard, so what should I get.

Well, for one, I wouldn't recommend having coitus with computer hardware.

Make sure you've got all the front panel header connections in correctly, all power connectors in securely, and all other connectors in correctly. I'd suggest pulling out the motherboard as well and double checking standoffs to make sure they're only where there are holes on the mobo.

Specs: CPU - Intel i7 8700K @ 5GHz | GPU - Gigabyte GTX 970 G1 Gaming | Motherboard - ASUS Strix Z370-G WIFI AC | RAM - XPG Gammix DDR4-3000MHz 32GB (2x16GB) | Main Drive - Samsung 850 Evo 500GB M.2 | Other Drives - 7TB/3 Drives | CPU Cooler - Corsair H100i Pro | Case - Fractal Design Define C Mini TG | Power Supply - EVGA G3 850W

how do we know the psu is not insufficient / the outlet is not giving proper power? aka faulty outlet

If you go to Micro Center they have a great return policy. Just try both.

I would, but there is no micro center within 100 miles of where i live.

I tried using a corsair ax1200i and an evga supernova 650 g2, both of which powered my computer just fine before and were sufficient when powering a loaner system from my friend.

is it the outlet then? if it worked for your friend but not you it could be the outlet

Not unless all the outlets in my kitchen and my room are broken.

honestly I feel like a motherboard is more likely to get damaged in this scenario. Take the cpu out and check the pins on it and make sure to look if any are bent or even completely gone. If you believe that you handled the cpu well, then I think its the motherboard. Its more likely to get damaged from being moved from case to case.

also try checking to make sure the GPU is installed (and plugged in) and check the RAM to make sure ther are no cracks on the stick or the socket
