Does nvlink work with sli motherboards

Hey Guys,

I have an sli ready motherbord (asus maximus x hero) with an 8700k and an gtx 1080ti.

And I was wandering if this motherboard will support nvlink if i would buy 2 rtx cards?

You've already got a 1080Ti, you don't need anything better.

It's SLI over nvlink, not real quadro nvlink you'll be fine.

I don't see why anyone would need anything better than one RTX 2080 Ti, let alone two.

to answer your question, i believe so, but a single 2080ti would be fine, and would not waste any extra money on a second
