Best CPU for Video Editing

Hey everyone.

My side job is video editing but as of the moment, I'm rocking an i3-8350K. It works but I don't think it's the best option. What do ya'll recommend?

depends on the program and what you;re doing

if its all effects editing then maximize cores , if not then..... idk just whatever will do then most people don;t do much in the way of effects which messes with render times on better cpu's

If you don't have a budget, the best is the i9 9900k.

A more reasonable choice would be the i7 8700k or the i7 9800k, and the i5 8600k or the 9600k would still be better, just not optimal.

These are all for your existing socket though. There's also threadripper.

What's your budget? Because the absolute best CPUs for this can cost as much as a small car.

Why is there a 850w PSU powering a 1060 3gb and 8350k? Also huge cooler for such a weak motherboard.

I would suggest either the NEW i7-9700k. Its got 8 Cores and I am pretty sure has better multi-thread performance than AMD. Otherwise the AMD Ryzen 7 is a great choice.
