Hey guys, first post here. I watch linus and the gang quite a bit etc etc.

But basically I'm posting here because I have a interesting/odd question/need assistance.
So recently the game Old school runescape has come out again on mobile, which prompted me to download it again and re create my account. After a few hours, I decided that it was fun again and I wanted to actually play...
But I always enjoy looking at doing weird things like most effective way to make money etc etc.

Besides botting which is not allowed, the only other theory I came up with was playing multiple accounts at the same time. Which according to their TOS is allowed. But obviously since runescape is such a intense game (Kappa) you would most likely only be able to play on 3-4 accounts at time effectively. Unless you are some sort of a god...

Anyways moving, so then I was like well I remember whats his name on wow multi boxes like 40 accounts at a time etc etc. I wonder if that is agaisnt TOS.
Scanning over it again... it looks like it is not, as you can play on multiple accounts at once and as long as each action has a 1>1 input>output (You press the letter "A" > The letter "A" appears once.) Then it is good to go.

So basically I looked at some software that most WOW players use for multi boxing, it hooks directly into openGL or something, which won't work for runescape as it is a Java based application.

So after a few days and hours I developed my own software that instead of hooking into the game client directly and sending functions (Which I think is against TOS+I would have to update it when they do game updates *Ithink?*).
It hooks your main computers inputs, basically your keyboard and mouse, then mimics them to another computer.

So what I ended up doing was creating 10 VM's using vmware. Installing windows 10 and runescape on each one, running the software on each one.. then I also have a AHK script on each one that resets the mouse cursor POS incase there is some desync, which doesn't happen but can.

So I ran into a issue where my HDD is basically bottlenecking at running 10 vm's off of it lol... So I backtracked it to about 2.. that run effectively off of it and can be used for this. And so far I've managed to multi box 3 accounts through tutorial island and get level 30-31 fishing on each one with very little issues.

So this leads me to my next question, since now I know I can do this I want to expand my available VM's. What would be a good way to do this?
Should I.

A. Buy 1 tb SSD. And run multiple VM's off of it?
B. Buy multiple SSD's and run 1-2 VM"s off of them.
C. Buy a dedicated server or something that can hold like 10 HDD's and run a VM on each one on it.

Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sorry for my english/grammar. English is my first language and I am bad at it. + I quick typed this up at work.... ❤️ Boss if you are reading this. I dont think you are... but incase you are ❤️ I am definitely working right now.

To be clear. playing on server accounts is not against the rules. However using serval accounts to benifit from activities in the game is against the rules.

You can easily use something similar to ESXI's remote control tool to have serval accounts at once. But it would be easier to strip the client and take it into a programming question to get serval accounts in one window.

The TOS states that as long as none of the accounts are doing exploitative activity, then they can be all be used at the same time.

Exploitative activity indicating rigging things in game like a minigame or things similar in my favor.

As long as all the accounts are not doing anything like that, like regular fishing.. grinding... pk'ing... etc etc. They are completely fine.

That being said I've never heard of ESXI's. Googling it, it looks like cloud vm's? Not quite sure...

That is what i said. Taking advantage of activities. Anyways ESXI is not a cloud system. it's a hypervisor. On the hypervisor you can install serval small boxes of whatever system you want, and there by running serval instances of the game.

However, it will not put 4 game screens in one window for you. it would be the same as spinning up 4 osrs clients on one monitor then try to line them up. One way around this is to use a server with VMs to open the game clients, get something like synegry and your main desktop with serval monitors and all these vm's lined up, this will give you the ability to use one mice and keyboard accross all the VM's plus your own desktop that in this case is just a management portal.
