I was thinking of buying this mechanical keyboard: https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/KEYCLM6029/Cooler-Master-Limited-Version-MASTERKEYS-PRO-L-Mec. I am also considering buying https://www.pbtech.co.nz/product/KEYCLM7102/Cooler-Master-MK750-RGB-Cherry-MX-Brown-Mechanical. .Which one is the better value? What is the difference between a cheap and expensive mechanical keyboard.

I couldn't stand clear keycaps, I don't know about you. As for price... well price doesn't determine quality. But assuming it is higher quality, it would usually have a selection of different switches, better build quality and materials, RGB, maybe macros, wrist rest. Mostly not knock off switches and build quality. I don't know how big the selection is in NZ, but there should be more options than just those two. I wouldn't take the cheaper one cause it's clear and I wouldn't take the expensive one cause it's expensive. Granted, the NZ dollar is pretty weak compared to the USD so maybe it's not that bad, I don't know.

NZ does have a good selection. I wanted to get a keyboard with brown switches but most of them are expensive in New Zealand (As with quite a lot of tech). The main thing that I am concerned about is the key lifespan. My logic is I can but 2 of the cheaper one for roughly the same price as the expensive one.

Yeah. More like "cheap" by New Zealand Standards.

Try a second hand one off eBay, you can normally get a good one about half of the retail cost when its second hand. Just get one that hasn't been used a long time so it won't be too mankey

The clear Coolermaster boards looks super neat!

I have a Masterkeys Pro S, 'regular one', but added a set of clear keycaps I got from Aliexpress. Looks hella cool already, but having the case be clear would be awesome too (I have always been a fan of for example the clear Nintendo products (like the GameBoy Color Atomic Purple).

When there is direct sun on the keycaps, the lighting is not super bright, but even during normal daytime the colors still show quite a bit.

Also, picture from in the dark:

Spoiler

I of course don't use it like this.. Because they are blank keycaps, i do have a sort of pattern to still somewhat recognize what is what. Since I am not the best blind typist, I still look down sometimes and because of that i have set all the letters (plus the navigation keys) set to yellow and all the rest to purple to distinguish it.

Keep in mind by the way the spacebar only  has 1 LED on it, so the sides are kinda barren when it's not fully dark at your desk.

Anyways, I personally would go for the Masterkeys Pro L, the MK750 is kind overpriced (just comparing the two to each other) and I personally like the look of the clear plastic (keycaps/casing) and don't mind blank keycaps.
