Let me begin by saying that I can understand that this is intended to prevent students and employees from being too clingy to their computers when looking up something risky.

However, I disapprove that the SafeSearch function in the Chrome browser won't let me turn it off when at home.

I read that it has to do with a certain IP range for WAN (your internet) and some other BS that they say.  Or even the fact that they said it could be the ISP blocking it.

First of all:  What would the point in having SafeSearch in the business/school environment when the ISP or the DNS servers just block the adult content outright anyway?

Second of all:  IP ranges have nothing to do with this.  And the fact that they addressed it by saying, "We're not forcing SafeSearch on our users" sounds like BS to me.

As far as I know, I never had a problem like this at all until now.

And, let me be VERY clear:

1.) I do NOT have any malware, rootkits, or viruses on my computer.

2.)  My Hosts file was not altered without my knowledge (in fact, I checked it and it was the same as it was a year ago.)

3.) None of my extensions specifically f*** up the function whatsoever to cause SafeSearch to be permanently enabled.

4.)  Even if there WAS an IP range that messes up the end users, I am no where NEAR that IP range because I use Cloudfare DNS and REDACTED you if you think I am going to trust you with my data Google!

5.)  My ISP doesn't have anything to do with this, and I don't have to check who's fault it is.

6.)  None of my cookies are corrupted in any way, so what gives?

7.)   So, I can conclude that it IS your fault Google.  I'm not that dumb, I'm not just another mindless drone on the internet like your tumblr-feminists.

*ahem*  that aside, I figured: "Screw it, let's do a fresh install!"  So I did reinstall Google chrome and.... Nothing.  Nothing worked.  Still forced on, and it won't budge a bit.

So, if any of you have a solution to this, please do let me know.

Thank you!!  :)

Oh!  My bad,  I can't turn off the "SafeSearch" function.

Ok?

But what problems is having the safesearch function on causing?

All it does is block adult content, I don't see how this has anything to do with IPs and other stuff you're talking about.

*Sighs*  Well I'll be honest, it now decided to honor the change in the settings of search results.  I don't know how it got fixed but I'm just glad that it is fixed.

That aside, Have a lovely day man. :)

Oh, I think you were talking about google safesearch, there is no "chrome safesearch"

If this is for what I think it is, I would recommend you use bing instead of google.

It's 100x better.
