Hello LTT..

I'm looking for a serious high quality of a Display Port cable, I need it around 1.5-2 meters long is enough. I need it to be high quality performance functionally and strong and tough physically, because my 2 y.o daughter always curious to my PC cables even I hid them by the best cable management I can do, she always find them and pull cluelessly..

So any recommendations by brand or other factors you guys throw here I will check for its availability in my local computer shop..

Thankyou..

To be honest it sounds like you need a lock on the door (assuming it's in a room with a lock) because even if you get the highest quality cable the connection on both ends will eventually be damaged.

Motherboard: ASRock B250M PRO 4

My desk is not in a seperate or special room, it's in a living room. My house is small so, not many solution I can find. This quest for the cables is one of my mitigation for it..

Do you have the list I'm looking for?

aren't most displayport cables locking?  - mine definitely are. there's no way a child would be able to pull them out anyway. As for quality there's not gonna be much in the way of signal qyality difference as they are digital, so it's either signal or no signal.

This is the one I have  https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00B2HOVK0/

mount the monitor to a wall as well as your pc. Then the cables will be up and out of reach. Success.

Another holes on the wall..? Let me see if that allowable on narrow wall space ?

One day my daughter pulled my XXL sized mousepad, the keyboard and mouse was thrown away and landed on the floor hard.. ?

Do you have any list for the cable I'm looking for aside of attaching the whole system on the wall?

I have to mitigate on every aspect, I'm sure there is no disadvantages by doing so..

Last time she pulled the cables my DP cable neck was bent and the plastic rubber housing for the metal port on it is dislocated while it still connected to the PC as you said because it is locked, and after that I'm experienced some black screen display, when I wiggle the connection, it shows the display on again..

The way I see it is, you're spending a little extra money to mount it out of your daughters reach, but may save money from having to replace or fix your graphics card when the output eventually gets too jacked up to work.

Nice.. Thanks for the input, I definitely consider your suggestion.. I don't think you need a stronger DP cable, I think you need a weaker daughter.

Still need a strong DP cable because my current cable is dying, it is damaged even still work with some touch on it..

How about Anker cables? Does they make DP cables? I know they makes great strong cables functionally and physically, but I can't find DP cable one from Anker

As paddy said, brand shouldn't matter for a digital cable.  How about a nylon braided cable like

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B078HVDMW2/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_Wvh3Bb3CYZ7BX

what about some parenting? like seriously, kids need to learn limits and accept a no as an answer, at least that's how me and my sister grew up, and yes we got mad at our parents, cried and everything but then realized they were right. our parents couldn't afford to replace anything so if we broke something (a toy, dishes, etc) that was it, there was no replacement

on the other hand I have a cat and when she was small liked to pull and bite the wires and then we had like a talk about getting behind the computer and she learnt to avoid that area of my room because it's dangerous. she likes to sleep over my case tho so I put an old sweater over it  to avoid scratches

Sounds to me like you should invest in one of the 6 or 8 baby gate fence setups and put it around your computer. Depending on the age of your child some discipline and training could be in order. I have twin 16 month olds that use to attempt to pull down blinds/curtains/etc. It took me a few weeks, but after some proper training they leave them alone now. So if you daughter is old enough maybe that should be a focus too.

I might try to get this one.. It looks sturdy structure overall.. No interlock pins, so maybe that's a plus for me because I prefer it to be easy to plug and unplug it, so if happen being pulled again, it can release from the PC and prevent connector damage on the VGA card.. Thanks man..

I never let her do that when I'm working on my PC, but often I found she mess around with it when the PC is powered off and I'm not on it.. ?

That is what me and my wife are working on together, my daughter must learn some area limitation, but every kids has their own level of character that dictates the parents how to make it work with their own level of difficulties to train them.. I'm working on it because she will have sibling soon, and I dont want to be a careless father as I must share my attention..

Hey, sorry for the late reply, yes I have found ugreen to be a good brand for cables, fairly strong (although I don't generally bite them and shit, lol), and they are fairly good cost wise.

I think you might be best as you said getting non-locking cables, at least then your child will at most just pull the cable out and not damage it... I will stress though that there have been cases of children pulling TVs down on themselves, so I would be cautious and make sure that the monitor/TV isn't in a position where her pulling at the cable might pull the tv/monitor down... I would hate that to happen.

Yes, when my daughter pulled it, luckily the monitor only move a bit because I use fixed monitor stand/arm with spanner holding the table edge.

Thanks for all, I can get one from what @jpenguin recommends..
