If u cant afford i5 u should consider amd.

In the grim darkness of the far future, there is only a GTX 1080, just a single 1080, where my glorious PC once stood....

For that is all I need, For the Emperor of Man, Jen-Hsun Huang, protects. We march for Nvidia, and we shall know no fear!

did you already bought the haswell mobo? i3s are weak for the price imo.

You ll be much better with something like a fx 6300, 8320 or any i5, even 2400 or 3570 non ks. Even if its used, since they cant be overclocked, most of them are in good condition (unless it was from some freak that oced the block D: )

They all work. Get an i5 though. If you are going to buy an i3, AMD is a better platform.

The i3 would be compatable with the 1150 MSI G45 gaming but i think AMD or Z77 will fit your budget. 3570k is well check it out for yourself......http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Core-i5-3570K-Quad-Core-Processor/dp/B007SZ0E1K/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1389099908&sr=8-1&keywords=3570k The second choice you put is the same as a 3570k at present.

I don't know where you live in the world but amazon.com, newegg.com and tigerdirect.com are some online places to browse around as well.

A water-cooled mid-tier gaming PC.

Yes it will. Here is a list of other CPUs that will work with the MSI GD65 gaming motherboard......http://www.msi.com/product/mb/Z87-GD65-GAMING.html#support That CPU however will not take advantage of the potential of the motherboard but if that is what you can purchase it......you can how ever do some saving and get a k series CPU for that same motherboard.
