Hello! I'm currently looking to buy a $700 CAD PC for everyday use. The main use of my PC is gaming (with games like Cities: Skylines, or Garry's Mod, etc.) and programming on Eclipse. So far, I'm looking at:

Fix it if it's trash. (Btw, it says $748.19 cuz I added the 13% HST)

Anything with a graphics card should work since I'm trying to replace my ageing Inspiron 15 3542

See bottom for GPU, for whatever reason that model didn't show up in pcpartpicker (reasons why it's a great tool but not always the best)

Uh... it's $100 over my limit. Also, the GPU did show up in my PCPartPicker.

Ok, try again. I can bump it down a little bit more, but you might take a hit in the CPU or GPU department, since it's a little hard to build something that satisfies both gaming and programming/cities: skylines. You can jump down to a 1050 Ti or RX 560 and that will bump the overall cost down about $40-50

Nah, it's fine. I can stretch my budget a bit. Just wait for the season to come, deals will be coming like Steam sales. Wait, I will probably go broke due to the amount of games this PC can run... Gaben just likes taking money out of my wallet.

Welcome to PC gaming. At least you don't go broke from buying 2 $60 games like you do on console. You go broke from buying a crap tone of games from the steam summer and winter sales, and the every week weekend sales

(lol) I didn't necessarily cheap out on my case, but I do wish I had spent more and gone with the 760T. I would be much happier with doing a custom loop in there, and I would have been less sad when the Air 740 released lol

I'd either wait for Black Friday and buy then, or with a budget like that, go used.

Now that's just starting to go overkill. Wouldn't really need a separate cooler in this instance.

Also, I was offered a used i3-8100 for $80, should I take it or nah...

Yea, just wait for Late November-Early January. There's going to be Black Friday, Christmas, Boxing Day, heck, some places even do a post-Boxing Day and New Year's deals.

Black Friday is the best. Christmas and Boxing Day don't really get great discounts; Boxing Day is now more for clothing stores clearing out winter stock and getting ready for the spring. Tech is Black Friday, 100%.
