The VS series is one of Corsair's worst. At the very least get a grey CXM model. I think you can get a 550W for maybe $60-70 AUD

You'd be fine with as little as a 450W unit, but you might want a 550W or so incase you upgrade something later. Your choice. As long as the label on the side of the PSU is grey for the CX series. Coresair made an old green one, and those are to be avoided.

Can anyone recommend a good PSU around the $50 AU mark? (about $35 USD, £27 and €31). I buy off Amazon and ebay BTW

NOT POSSIBLE for that money.

You need to pay more if you want a good one.

For that money you can only get a crap one. Even in Germany you can't get something somewhat decent.

And we have some great, cheap options like be quiet System Power 9 and Xilence Performance A+.

And those are ~35€ at least.

Why not start with a Ryzen 2400G and some decent Memory??

That saves you the money for a Graphics card and you can invest in something better like a decent Power Supply, good memory and especially an SSD.

And that is very important, even if we are only talking about a 120GB one...

Windows 10 on a HDD is just not fun.

And if you buy your games and are on a tight budget, why not think about a playstation 4 (PRO) instead??

If he wants to play games a 2400G isn't nearly as good as a 1050 ti, specially if he's going for demanding titles (they don't need to be very recent)

It does save money but it does perform worse as well

not everyone wants an SSD, but ofc ssd vs hdd is night and day. In my case If I can get a better gpu even if I don't have an SSD I'm all for it. I don't mind waiting for my O.S/games to be ready, I can do other stuff in the meantime.

I decided on a Corsair CX Series 650w. This suits my budget nicely and I have prior knowledge of the grey series. And lol nah I don't want a console. However I am getting a Kingston 120GB SATA SSD as well. Thanks for the input though. And i'm not going to try any serious titles, just CS:GO and Fortnite most likely. I know those games are ez to run because you can get 50-60 fps for both on crappy laptops (I've had experience :'()
