Dedicated download rig specs?

I download a lot of phone firmware and I would like a dedicated rig for downloading such large files. What would be a good minimum spec for this?

Literally anything. You'll be limited by your internet connection long before hw limits are reached.

But why not just use your main pc?

Look for the cheapest computer you can find on eBay...even if its $1, it will still be more powerful than my old 80286 which could download....

I cant imagine how you could need to download so much phone firmware to need a dedicated rig....even sammobile could probably run off a Pi

A raspberry pi can be a limiting factor depending on your connection speed. I have 700Mbit internet and I averaged 50MB/s to wget an Ubuntu iso on my macbook (wifi) and only 5MB/s on my pi (ethernet). I can't seem to break 7.5MB/s using different block sizes with dd on the pi. If you are planning on downloading large "phone firmware" files you're not going to store them on the flash card anyway but I can't test that.
