i7-8700K pricing

Go to solution Solved by duncannah,

There's a shortage, that's why the price is higher.

So about a year ago i bought a 8700k for €351 on amazon.
I was building a pc for a friend and wanted to recommend the 8700K too since it is pretty future proof.

Looking up the pricing stunned me, they are now at €469 at amazon(DE).
How is this even possible? isnt the 9th gen / refresh out already?

I am here to learn, please correct me if im wrong or you see me putting bs on your screen!

Should just grab an R5 2600 at half the price anyways man, it's perfectly fine for gaming.

That pricing is probably a third party price.

I edit my posts a lot, Twitter is @LordStreetguru just don't ask PC questions there mostly...

Spoiler

What is your budget/country for your new PC?

what monitor resolution/refresh rate?

What games or other software do you need to run?

Already finished the build with a R7 2600X. I told him R5 would be better but he said he didnt mind spending the extra 100ish.

Can probably squeeze in a better GPU or just use that money towards a better display if he only has a 1080p 60hz display
